I am one of the pioneers of the coaching profession, and am also trained and experienced as a psychotherapist, which provides useful support for my holistic leadership coaching. Sara ‘Zora’ Boas, MCC, MA, RDMP, is a leadership coach, advisor, speaker and educator, who helps people find the source of their power and use it wisely. Sought out for her creative, uncompromising and yet sensitive approach, she has for more than 30 years been influencing key leaders around the world, partnering with them behind the scenes to challenge their thinking and optimise their impact. Having established her coaching business in 1987, she is a pioneer of the profession, who has developed and upheld standards of excellence through her mentoring, assessment, and training of other coaches around the world. Her unique approach to ‘leading from within’ weaves her background in dance, anthropology and psychology with insights from organizational behaviour, adult development, somatics and the philosophy of science. Whether coaching, consulting, teaching, training, facilitating or speaking to large groups, she maintains a commitment to co-creative conversations that combine radical honesty with deep kindness. She is the founding director and principal coach of Boas Partners, an international consultancy committed to transforming leadership in business, the public sector, research institutions, NGOs and the arts. Together with her team, she has coached thousands of individuals across 100 countries on five continents. Clients include Cisco Systems, BMW, Heineken, BP, Royal DSM, Ernst & Young, GlaxoSmithKline, American Express, IBM, Ahlstrom Corporation, Zurich Insurance, Europay International and the Walt Disney Company as well as public or cross-sector bodies such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the UK Cabinet Office, Eurocontrol and the European Commission, and academic instutions such as the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her pro bono work includes developing artistic processes to enable young people and members of vulnerable and marginalised groups to realise their creative potential and take a leading role in their own communities. She is also the developer of LIFEdance!, an innovative approach to personal development that is summed up in its motto: ‘Live your dance, Dance your life!’. In 2007, she was a recipient of the Leadership Gurus Award of Excellence. This award is bestowed upon individuals who have attained the recognition of their peers and the general public for the originality, practicality and impact of their ideas, and for their visionary leadership.
