Born and raised in France, Stella discovered the power of coaching in 2002, when she began working as a Career Coach for the YMCA of Burlington County in New Jersey. She realized 1st hand the impact a caring, knowledgeable, and empowering coach can have on someone’s life and well being. Her passion for helping others grow and improve their quality of life was born. After working for almost 9 years as a Digital Content Manager and Chef for the cooking website Allrecipes.com, based in Seattle where she now thrives with her husband and 3 daughters, her passion for coaching, combined with her love of good food slowly morphed into her current career as a Health and Wellness Coach. Witnessing the struggle many people were experiencing when trying to reconcile healthy eating and tasty food, she decided to focus her energy on simplifying the process for them and leading them to sustainable success. Adding to her personal experience, her French University Degree in Communication, and her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, she got certified in Sports Nutrition and Performance at Washington State University (WASU), became nationally certified as a Health Coach by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaches (NBC-HWC), and as a Life Coach by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Trained in myriad modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Change Coaching, or Small Group Facilitation, she very passionate about working with those affected by prediabetes or at risk for type 2 diabetes, a condition relevant to more than 1 in 3 adults in the US. Due to her personal experience and past struggles with weight and emotional eating, she also has a special love of providing support to those who have been dealing with weight issues most of their life and carry the heavy burden of guilt, shame, and low self-esteem. Her approach is professional, supportive, and effective. Whether she coaches individuals in her own practice, mentors groups at the West Seattle YMCA and in private gyms, or teaches at South Seattle College, participants overwhelmingly appreciate her positive and non-judgmental attitude, the simplicity and practicality of her message, as well as her way to think and to help THEM think “outside-of-the box”. With Stella, you will be in caring and knowledgeable hands, so that you can feel safe and empowered to experiment and grow toward a fuller, longer, and happier life.
