Meet Maria Mageena

Current life (Title)

Chief Operating Officer

Tell us about your business/occupation & how you ended up where you are today.

I started my career journey as an Auditor and felt like something was missing... It was when I switched my focus into management when I realized this was the field I'd love to be a part of. I've entered the Technology Industry as a General Manager of US subsidiaries in the EU and successfully supported them to overcome their technical dept & maintain sustainable growth through further developing our high performing teams and relocating resources based on the maximum corporate value created. It was a beautiful moment of pride when I saw that our remote delivery center was thriving and growing rapidly but, still limited to a single SaaS solution... That couldn't get unnoticed form the Board of Directors who offered me a partnership opportunity where we could scale this magic. So, we founded Xtapod and, since then we're supporting other US organizations with their technical growing challenges. We understand the complexity and pitfalls of own product development and that's why we are investing in gradual and continuous development of quality.

Describe your typical workday?

A typical workday for me includes standard managerial activities such as overseeing accounting/legal/HR divisions, staying close with my colleagues and maintaining a fun/creative vibe within the company, participating in webinars & interactive sessions with the local community and of course, setting higher goals for the coming days

What is the biggest challenge you face in your business/job & how do you overcome it?

My biggest challenge is to balance multiple roles while pushing myself to get better with everything. I realized that I'm only a human so, I took a step back and gave myself a little bit of "observation time". Once I did, the way for an easy daily flow was clearer than ever: "Intention-Time-Focus". These 3 words have guided me ever since, through my routine, as I set them up differently for each role, day, challenge, etc...

How do you keep yourself motivated?

By being my own best friend. Our minds will always believe what we're telling them so, I keep on cheering me up.

"Go to" quote or mantra?

Smile because you deserve it ;)

What inspires you?

To create a better version of my self every single day... Experiencing beautiful growth within me, personally & professionally, and transmitting it to the world.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Stay in love with the process, it's the journey that makes us trully happy

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Focus on what's working best for you, not on what you think you want...

What are your "go to" business books?

"The code of the Extraordinary Mind" by Vishen Lakhiany

What are your favorite productivity tips or hacks (apps, tools, organizational methods)?

1) Short meditations breaks (even a 7m session is effective) 2) Setting intentions & time frames before starting tasks (details in calendar enhance the sense of control) 3) Listening to "Alpha hz" music while working (beats mental tiredness and enhances memory & focus) 4) Making fun and consciously maintaining a happy vibe (yes, even when I'm alone) 5) Drinking a lot of water, consuming healthy meals & superfoods
