Tell us about your business/occupation & how you ended up where you are today.
An expert on persuasion, I teach high stakes persuasive communication techniques to female executives who are ready to take their careers to the next level and communicate their value when the stakes are high. This could mean a higher salary, more clients, faster promotions, job security or simply being recognized for their ideas and their value. I do this by sharing my expertise of over thirty years of hiring, training and leading global teams on how to use the power of persuasion to exponentially increase sales and bring in millions of dollars of incremental revenue. As a result, the women I work with learn unique, proven persuasion techniques from a seasoned professional who knows what it takes to get and keep a seat at the table. When I was a little girl, I was a crazy and wild kid. A total extrovert, bordering on loud and obnoxious. One day, at Camp Chickami which is a summer camp just outside of Boston, I was awarded the " Screwy Screamer" award. This was the highest honor at Camp Chickami and a coveted award. When the Screwy Screamer Award was presented to me at the morning assembly, I didn't understand what was happening and all I could see was people laughing at me and pointing. I was pretty young, just seven years old and everyone was laughing and pointing. At me. Naturally I burst into tears and was very upset because I thought I was being teased and that people were making fun of me. I can still see as clear as day, when I turned around and my sister was there, right next to me, on her knees beside me, hugging me, comforting me, telling me that this was ok and this was in fact a good thing. She explained that the award means that people like me and like hearing what I have to say. My sister repeatedly stuck up for me when we were little and showed me how to find my voice. She then never used her own. My life’s mission is to help women find their voice because the person closest to me never could.
My purpose is getting women to truly believe they are worth what they are asking for and that they will get what they're asking for. I'm here to change the norms of how women behave in the workplace.
